Choices, becoming the best me

Choice is the act of choosing between many possibilities. As black women, we’ve been led to believe that there are limitations to our success. As Counter-Col Network embarks on the next stage of our journey, we want to remind you that despite the many uncertainties we face, one thing for sure is our power to choose our destinies.

The decisions we make during our working lives will invariably impact our futures, which is why it is critical to feel empowered to make decisions that best serve us, even if they seem difficult. To understand our worth is to acknowledge that we may need to change direction at times, and this is something we shouldn’t fear but embrace. It takes confidence and support to navigate our way through the col.

In our anniversary event, we’re celebrating freedom of choice. We are pleased to be joined by our Keynote speaker Bernadette Thompson OBE, who will be delivering a thought-provoking perspective on ‘The Power of Choice’. We are also excited to announce that we will be sharing some of the key feedback from our CCN survey. Additionally, we’ll be having a fireside chat where our founder Hazel Ade-Williams will update attendees on some of the choices we’ve made since our launch and what’s in store for the year ahead. The event will close with poetry from Ayaba Poetic.

Join us for this and more.
