At CCN, we recognised the significant gap in work-related data in the UK around women of African and African-Caribbean descent, therefore we made the conscious decision to uncover these missing and vital statistics.

In October 2020, we conducted a survey to capture the unique working life experiences of black women in the UK. In doing the survey we aimed to:

  • Understand the key themes that underpin the working life experiences of black women in the UK
  • Assess the impact of the working life experiences of black women on their career trajectory, health and general wellbeing
  • Determine how CCN can help meet the complex needs of black women in their working lives in the UK.
